Privacy Policy

In accordance with Section 7216, our office does not disclose any information to any parties other than the Internal Revenue Service and the States associated with the return, or the Bank if a bank product is involved in the return.  This has been a long standing policy in our office.

“New regulations under Internal Revenue Code Section 7216, Disclosure or Use of Tax Information by Preparers of Returns, become effective January 1, 2009. The new regulations update regulations that have been substantially unchanged since the 1970s, and give taxpayers greater control over their personal tax return information.   The statute limits tax return preparers’ use and disclosure of information obtained during the return preparation process to activities directly related to the preparation of the return. ” – IRS Website

Beginning January 1, 2009, we will no longer fax or email documents to third parties at a taxpayers request.  All documents and information will only be released to the client in question.  This is for our safety as well as your own.

Information released over the phone is only done so after the taxpayer has answered sufficient questions regarding his/her own personal information to prove that persons identity.  The questions are picked at random and relate to the information we have on prior tax returns.

Personal information is NEVER released to girlfriends, boyfriends, mothers, fathers, etc.  If someone tells you they heard it from us, you may rest assured they did not.
